how to blog on a budget

Blogging is something that can take a lot of time and money. When I first started out my blog, I had quite a lot of time, but not a lot of money. Not everyone can invest so much money on their blog when they first start out and that’s okay. Not having a lot of money shouldn’t discourage someone from starting a blog that they know they’d be passionate about. So here are ways that you could still run a blog if you don’t have a huge investment to add to it!

Use a free blog hosting site
There are many free hosting sites out there where you can start your blog on. For example, Blogger, WordPress, and Weebly. All you do is sign up and BAM, you’ve got your blog. If you’ve had a blog for a while and want to get more serious about it, you can think about making an investment of buying a domain name for your blog if you want 🙂

Don’t underestimate the power of a phone

Everyone has a smartphone these days and these smartphones have great cameras. Don’t worry about your blog not being great because you don’t have a DSLR camera, use what you have already! So grab your iPhone, Samsung, or my favourite, Google Pixel and take some snapshots for your blog!

Use free editing apps

Not everyone, including me, can afford to pay for Lightroom or Photoshop to edit their blog photos. But that ain’t no problem (she says in a Shannon Sharpe voice). I’ve personally been using Snapseed on my Google Pixel recently and it has changed the game for me!! Other apps you can use are VSCO, the free Lightroom app on your phone and Polarr! They’re very easy to use too, so it’ll be no problem editing!

There are many free blog templates online

Honestly! Just Google “templates for (add your hosting site)” and a bunch of websites with free templates come up! Choose whatever you think suits your blog and you’ve got a template for your blog. Like with a hosting site, if you want, you can invest in a different template in the future 🙂

Now that you know the ways you can blog on a budget go ahead and passionately write about whatever you want!
